John Deere GT245, Was Surging, Now Running Wide Open

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but am looking to see if anyone has experienced the same problem. I have a 2005 John Deere GT@$% with the Kawasaki V Twin. It started surging, so I replaced filters, cleaned vent line, removed carb and cleaned. After reinstalling everything, the surging has stopped, but it is Running wide open with minimul throttle control. It acts like the governor is not working, but I've checked springs, ect. Has anyone experienced a similar problem. I think it has to be an adjustment, spring, something....just haven't been able to put my finger on it. I can't use the mower at this time, if the PTO is not engaged the RPM's are so high I'm afraid something is going to give.

I would say that you have hooked the linkages up wrong. Are you able to post some pics of the carb and governor arm with links installed?

I'll take a few pictures this evening. I tried adjusting the Governor last night but still have the same issue. It runs wide open at overly excessive RPM's as soon as it is started. There is no response from the throttle control.
