Unless we have ESP you are not going to get any replies. We need the following info to give you a our opinions. Kind of engine with model numbers. Age and condition of your unit. What are the symptoms that caused you to think about rebuilding. What is the maximum $$$ you will put into it. Are you going to do the work or have it out sourced. Can you get measurements of certain parts so we will be able to make good suggestions. We don't know if a part can be reconditioned or needs replacing without measurements. If you are going to do it yourself do you have a repair manual for the engine. I have rebuilt 250+ engines and the cost has ranged from $100 for a small B&S to $2500+ for a Wisconsin VG-4D. I know that this is not the answer you wanted to see, but please understand where the techs who may be answering you are coming from.
