My uncle just purchased a 1985 John Deere 112L at an auction. I am going to fix it up for him. First off, does anyone know if it uses a 12v battery, or a 6 volt battery? I was testing it today with a 12v battery and the wires started to get hot. Also, is there supposed to be a kill switch under the seat? There is a electric plug under the seat that is connected to nothing. Also under the seat is a reservoir filled with what looks like oil. Is this for the tranny? One last question is the fuel system. The line runs from the back of the mower to the front. It attaches to the engine at the very top. How does gas get up there? It would seem as if it would never go up there because it is curved upward. Also, how do I test that the fuel pump is working? Thanks for the help!
