I have an X330 John Deer mower that has some issues.
Sometimes it’s fine...runs no problem (as it did the last 3 times used) however today (and several times over the last few years) it just runs out of power - it generally starts happening when the mower is engaged. But after it’s happened once - it can happen weather or not the mower is running. Today I simply gave up after it stopped 16 times in 3 laps of the lawn.
I did just put new gas in it (91) before running it today. But I don’t know that it has anything to do with that.

I shot a video to help communicate the issue.

if this loss of power is only happening while the mower is engaged then there is either a bad bearing on your PTO clutch or possibly some excess drag on the belt across the spindles for the deck. You might want to start off by removing the deck and spinning each deck spindle by hand to see if they spin freely. Then also check any points along the path of the belt to make sure that it has not been rubbing on anything.

Two things I would check with those symptoms. Valve clearance and is it running on both cylinders.
