JD X370 mulch blades

Have original blades but am thinking mulch blades would be better to chop up fallen leaves. Any thoughts on this idea? Also, has anyone had the RPMs increased on their engine. I have the 18hp Kawasaki and would like to increase top rpm a couple of hundred. Good or bad idea?

Either you have FS600V-BS21 or a FR651V-AS40
Adjusting the top speed screw may help but this engine is design for a top RPM of 3600. Use a tach to set this speed. Operating above this speed can cause issues. Also your low idle speed is set at 1550 rpm.

The top speed is locate on the control and will see it when moving the throttle cable. Remember tighten the locking nut when through.
