I recently traded my 1992 JD GT262, for a 2009 JD X360. Inside the lens of the X360, there is alot of dirt and is keeping the headlights from shining very bright. I was finally able to get the bulb sockets out of the headlight housing in the grill. I nearly broke one of the headlight sockets. I cleaned all of the dirt off of the bulbs, then tried to press the two tabs of the lens, behind the grill, thinking the lens would pop out, but it wouldn't come out. Does anyone know how to get the clear plastic lens off of the grill, so I can clean the inside of the headlight housing? Also, are there any 1156 LED bulbs I can use in these sockets, to replace the incandescent bulbs? I tried some 1156 LED bulbs I had on hand, but they didn't light up. I installed LED bulbs in the GT262 I had, but I had to replace the original headlight wiring harness and sockets, with a new wiring and sockets for the GT262. Will I have to do the same with this X360, to install LED bulbs? If I can put LED bulbs in the X360, what are the brightest LED bulbs for this X300 Series tractor?

I am sorry that I can't offer an answer to your question, but I do have some advice that may prove useful. When the 1156 LED's became available I purchased two for my X300. They were physically too large to insert through the socket hole from behind, so I used a screwdriver to pop the lenses off. Work at it from the vertical sides of the lenses. I was able to pop off mine without any damage. I had to reverse the polarity of the sockets; Light Emitting DIODES!

Good luck and enjoy your new brightness,

Lee
