JD 455 is leaving streaks

I have a 1996 455, very low time tractor that leaves streaks in my lawn. I have adjusted the deck both ways, tire pressure is as right on and blades are sharp. Has anyone else had this problem. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Gary

Are spindle bearings in good shape? Worn bearings will create a drag in rotation of blades, not allowing blades to turn at max. rpms. If they are greasable spindles give them some grease.

Is it the correct JD blades?
Are the blades really worn with rounded corners?
How high are you mowing the grass?

When you say streaks, do you mean strips of grass in between the blades not being cut, or lower/higher cut on either side, etc.. More detail on the type of cut experienced needed for me.

If your leaving strips of uncut grass it's likely a rounded blade tip as mentioned. These need to be straight and butter knife sharp along the face. Tire pressures must be even also.
