I have a JD 345 with a KAW 20 hp. I need to replace the front axil pivot bushing. Steering is wondering, power steering is tight and so are Kingpins are good. Do I have to pull the muffler to replace bushing.

Yes if referring to the center pivot point. Much easier than unbolting the engine.
Note the muffler will be M8 nuts. You may to use a 12mm or 13mm socket depending which nuts JD used at the time. The M8 JIS nut are 12mm hex. I perfer to use the flanged JIS nut myself as there more clearance for the socket.
Thanks Star trac. I was hoping not to have to remove Muffler as on a Briggs V twin the bolts were frose and 3 of 4 snaped off the head threads. even after soaking with Blaster. I hope this does not happen on this H20 KAW.

So far everyone that had the nut froze to the stud the stud came out here. I usually replace the nuts with stainless steel ones. I also keep the studs on hand.
