JD 325 leaking oil like a wild man

Church has a 325 with a 48c deck and a 18hp Kawasaki v twin engine. So I'm mowing today and here sort of a sound noise, blades stop and discover that the deck drive belt is all chewed up. So stick a spare on and get back to mowing. Very shortly the oil pressure light flickers on and off so I check dipstick and find its a bit low and add some. So run some more and several minutes later the oil light comes on solid. So I stop the engine and see oil running over the mower deck.Look around and can see the crank at the bottom of the engine leading to the PTO and oil is pouring. There is a gap btwn the bottom of the block and the tractors frame and it looks like the oil seal is pushed down out of the block and oil continues to drip out

So I'm assuming the crank seal has popped out and I'm going to have to replace it.

First question.....is the PTO tuff to get off the crank shaft?

Second question.....Once the mower deck is out and the PTO is off, do you know if there is enough of a hole in the frame of the tractor to replace the oil seal or will I have to yank the engine?

Third question.....does this kind of thing happen often and is it related to the mower primary drive belt being chewed up rt before the oil issue?

Try just taking to bolt off, then see if the PTO will drop before you go thru taking the deck off. Yes you can take the deck off and do it, but that's just an extra step. If the clutch wont drop easily, then remove the deck and you got some work to do if its rusted up on there. I just did one this afternoon, didn't have to take the deck off. I lowered the deck as low as it could go. I took the PTO belt off, the PTO bolt. I thought it was frozen up there, but just a little wiggle back and forth, it dropped. Then push/lock the brake to loosen the drive belt, and that pulley came off. Seal puller and a crappy throw away screwdriver, the seal was out, new seal carefully put back in, some anti-seeze and put the pulleys and pto on. 12min. Not saying yours can go that easy, but hopefully yours is not frozen/rusted up, best of luck
