It's new to me!

Just got home with a nice little 30084S (serial 33 084043) that's been repowered by a 12HP B&S (282707-0110 01-9212224E) ... so far, so good. Got it cheap (for around here, anyway) because the guy couldn't figure out why it was throwing the belt. Turns out the three remaining bolts holding the engine down (one was missing) were loose!

So ... I'm off to the shop to grab some better bolts and then get to mowing!

Oh, if anyone has or can tell me where I can latch on to an owner's manual, I'd appreciate it GREATLY!

Lawnranger,

Thanks for the link, but they don't have the manual for the 30084S. It's too old, I guess.

I'm on good terms with my local Snapper dealer, I'll see what I can do. They are closed until next week so give me a little time.

Are you sure you have the model number, the whole model number and nothing but the model number?

I'll try to snap a picture of it tonight. Like I said, it's an oldie!

I got the bolts from our local Menards and they've been installed. Got it all buttoned back up and it mows like a dream! :) LOVE this little mower.

Oh, and it brought a friend along too, included in the deal. It runs really well and I think it'll come in handy. If it doesn't, I can sell it later!

OK, guys, I got the manuals I needed (thx to a new friend), so I made some adjustments as needed (belt, etc.) and tried it out on my neighbor's back yard this morning. Found a few other things I'll need to work on, but none are killers:

1. I need a battery. That'll be done next weekend.
2. Looks like I'll need a driven disc soon, although when I stopped and adjusted the clutch/brake pedal, it did better. Still, replacement's not expensive, so I'll probably just go ahead and do it.
3. I had to level the deck ... and it took me all of 2 minutes. The MTD I got rid of to get this one took me HOURS to get within a half-inch of level.
4. Gotta fix the blade brake. No biggie; just need to order the parts.

One question: Does anyone here use synthetic oil? I've been considering it, but would like some input as to whether it will make much difference.
