I run groundskeeping at nursing home with 40+ acres to attend to. In the last year I have had 3 walk behind mowers crap out, all toro products. After doing my research it seems that these homeowner type mowers, purchased by my predecessor, lacked an oil pump. Now I found a snapper dealer locally, but the sales guy couldn't tell me for sure that this model, which has the pump, will do what i need it to do, which is lubricate properly on hills over 15 degrees. Google couldn't give me what i was looking for either so I was hoping someone here couldt point me to some concrete evidence,that I can bring to my boss, proving that this mower is the right one for our facility. It would be used to mow any areas inaccesable to my riding mowers, including steep hills, would run for up to 7 hours a day some days. The snapper model number is 780847 with a briggs engine 121Q72. Now i contacted Snapper and Briggs and got contradictory results. Snapper said they are not manufactuering a full pressure oil system in a walk behind yet, but the Briggs said the engine model that the mower has, has an oil pump and will suit my needs. Now im really confused. HELP
You could always find a restored 2 stroke commercial series lawn boy, then you wouldn't have to worry about how steep the slope is, and those things run forever:thumbsup:
