I got two Husqvarna HU700H mowers for very cheap. both honda GCV engine are in good shape but the bodies have some issues.

I took apart this braket yesterday and would like to know if I should attemp a repair weld.

I have just about zero welding skills but I do have a flux core small welder and lots of patience.

We can see the some did a very bad repair job which has failed.

Given the stress in this area would you attempt to fix this or just go out and purchase a new braket. Even if I do a good weld is likely to just fail again ?, not sure if my repair weld can be as strong as the original part

Yes it can be done if you know someone that has the ability. I know have done a lot worst repairs. Actually who did that repair should just give up. But I think that is a replaceable bracket.

I called a local shop. I was expecting the part to cost 30-40 dollars as in Canada everything is more expensive but surprise was quote $13 so I ordered one but it back order. So will try my welding skills while I wait for the new part.
