I took apart the 4450-1 rearend to clean and check it for wear. Is there a trick or method that makes it easier to mesh the spur gear on the axle to the two spur gears on a crossshaft inside a miter gear ?
Fixed my own problem ! This is s tight fit,two shims on each side. After fitting everything up as level a tight as possible I gave it light tap with a small hammer and it popped right-in,needless to say I was delighted .
