I have a LT1045 and muffler doesnt look bad on outside but is making louder exhaust noise and can find no other leaks.Mower is 6 or 7 yrs. old anybody else had to replace seemingly good muffler?
Make sure your muffler flange is tight. Sometimes they become loose, and then the gasket blows out. This can be important in the colder climats as a hot engine with a loose exhaust pipe can allow cold air to blow directly on and in to the hot exhaust valve and warp it.
