Is it the muffler

I have a little 30” craftsmen single blade mower. R110 mower. It's two years old. I wear ear protection mufflers. Today while mowing I removed the ear mufflers. Wow. That B&S 10.5 was loud. I know it's possible that the muffler is shot. But at only two years. Would anyone have had their muffler gone that quick.

Only someone standing next to the unit can answer this question. What is loud to some, is just right to others.
