Got soil test back today. Iron in a part of the lawn that is thin the last few years is about 430 ppm or 863 lbs per acre. The pH is right at 6.8 so there is no desire to raise pH to lower iron availability, and the phosphate level is medium / optimal. I am going to add some Yara 21-7-14 turf royale to bring up the needed nutrients. The last application 75 days ago was an organic 8-3-5 Naturesafe that I have been using. My guess is that the blood and feather meal has been adding iron the last few years. Anyone have any tricks to lower iron in a clayish soil? I can't flood it because we are in a drought here in California right now. Cool season lawn, Tall Fescue / Bluegrass combination.

too late 21-7-14 Turf Royale is out. I'll do another soil test in 90 days.
