Intermittent Blade Clutch

I have a older Scag walk behind manual start mower. If I have been mowing for a while and turn off the blades they will not turn back on. After the mower sits for a couple of hours, if you start it back up they work fine until the mower warms up. Any ideas?

The cluch coil may go to infinite resistance when hot . There is a break is in the wire and it is held together when cold and as long as current is flowing , but when it heats up (as all bad connections do) when you cut the power it opens up. and no more blades, let it cool down and it will reconnect and the cycle can start over again, I think you choice is live with it or replace it.:frown:
