Not here often but when I fix something like to share.
My mower is pretty old, burns some oil, but keep fixing it.
However, I had a few times over the years I broke the string, so decided to change the whole recoil. First time changed and original owner. How did this recoil last that long without breaking?.
Bought the oem spring and pulley assembly (much easier to install as whole part). Also bought string and rope stop (never knew it had one).
In the end was not that hard and appears to work better. Let's see if the string continues to break or just my arm too strong. Also, changed spark plug, oil, filter and started on the first pull. This mower amazes me that it's this old and still runs. I did do lots of maintenance over the years is key. Not fully sure what rope stop does but put it on. Love Toro and B and G.
