I purchased a new B&S 163 cc engine a few months ago, and I'm finally getting around to installing it. I don't know how to get the belt pulley off Can someone help?
Most have an Allen head screw to lock them on the shaft. You need to loosen that screw if it has one.
If the old engine crankshaft is rusty, it will have to be sanded down to clean metal. From there soak it with PB blaster and then tap it lightly with a hammer a drift punch close to the crankshaft area. It may take some time and repeat effort, but it will break free eventually.
Thanks for the advice. The numbers on the old engine are model 125p020070f1, year 2022, displacement 190cc, serial# 2207203621629. There is no set screw.
