I got the mower started after cleaning the carb and gas tank but I still have 2 other problems I sure could use some advice on.
1. The transmission does not work. I found that the pivot point for the shift lever on the transmission case was broken. I found a used transmission on Ebay. I took the transmission apart an inspected all the internal parts and then reassembled and replaced the case. I must have put something together wrong. The mower seems to have only 1 speed and you almost have to run to keep up. I thought I knew how the shifting worked but I guess not. Any Ideas what I did wrong?
2. The blade clutch seems to always be engaged. - I took the blade off and the clutch disk and spring and all looks OK. I can not figure out how to get farther into the clutch. How do I get at the plate where the cable attach? And how does this clutch work?
This manual will save you time and money. Everything is explained in depth and is easy to use. Having a shop manual should be top priority when one does their own work and maintenance.
