I have read that some B&G gas tanks have the fuel filter inside. It sounds like it's not too difficult. I just question if needle nose pliers are really enough to get it out and reinstall.

Thoughts? Better yet pictures or a video. I've looked, but...

The filter is installed before the top and bottom of the tank is melted/molded together. You are not going to get it out, and in most cases will never see it.

The ones I've seen were filter/clunks attached to the end of fuel tubing. Needle nose along with pushing tubing from the outside to create enough slack usually helps. Sometimes you can snake it out with a short piece of wire fashioned into a hook of sorts. Then replace fuel line as needed and work a new filter/clunk into the line and pull back into the tank.
