I'm having trouble looking up a part number. This should be a simple operation but it's stumping me. I have a Troy-bilt Pony 1000 and need to order a new ignition coil. There are numbers on it 796520, 32210-00-?, 12054. Evidently none of these are the correct part number. I've seen a couple of sellers say that there part will work but am leery. Thank you.

YOu look up the engine parts via the engine model and type/spec numbers Not the model number of the mower

Engine model, if a Briggs and Stratton, should be stamped on the front the engine on the valve cover... May need to clean a bit to read them properly.
If it's a Kohler it should be on a shiny silver tag...

Thank you both very much. I was trying to look up at the troy-bilt site and then using the numbers posted earlier and was feeling very stupid. Briggs & Stratton 31C707/3346-G6. Replacement part number 595304, located and ordered. Thanks again.
