Does any one know the amount of normal resistance for a troy-built leaf blower model # TB320BV--part number 753-04336?
thank you

will, Search around this forum and you will find lots of discussion on coils and testing. If it is a "solid state" (transistorized) unit resistance check probably useless. The transistors are in the circuit and are switched off without proper voltage applied.

Thamk you. I have no idea if it is transistorized. I haven't a manual or any info on this unit. Part number on the coil itself is MTD 7181b

Your coil is a CDI (capacity discharge ignition) coil which cannot be test with out expensive equipment. I would say that 99% of the repair shops test their coils by removing the kill wire and checking for spark. No spark, replace the coil.

Hi. I found another coil in the bone yard of a local repair shop-$10-Now I have spark. Because I had to dismantle the blower to change the coil--will the fan need torqueing of the bolt and nut before starting and should I be using LOCK Tite to prevent the nut and bolt from coming off in operation?

New-(used)-coil worked on bench for 10 seconds--reassembled blower--now no spark-- why-why-why?
