I have an older MTD Yard Machines rider it has a B&S 18.5hp twin cyl. engine, model is 42A707-1238-01. I need to get some parts for it but the previous owner has removed the I.D. tag from under the seat. Can anyone help me figure out the model number for this mower?
Could you get us the code off the engine. It is next to the model number. That will allow us to narrow down the possible model number to year. and what kind of drive does it have. Hydrostat or gear shift type.

Engine numbers will not identify your model, you'll be better off posting some photos of the unit, then maybe with some luck someone here will be able to help you.
