I posted about oil in the air filter compartment but now have another problem

Craftsman Model 917.377842 - Honda 6.5 engine. I went ahead & bought a new carb & tried starting it but wouldn't. There's no oil coming into the air filter compartment but now, there's gas coming out of the muffler. I've never had that happen & don't understand why. It does it everytime I try to start it. I took out the spark out to see what would happen & gas squirted when I pulled it a couple of times. I appreciate any help. I would be grateful.:frown::confused2:

Check if you have gas in the oil. I suspect the float needle is sticking open allowing fuel to run straight thru the engine. Time to pull the carb, clean and replace the float needle. Sometimes with Honda it is cheaper and easier to replace the carb.
