My suggestion is "if it's running ok" then leave it the heck alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!
A new carb at a snapper dealer would be about $80 - $100
Your mower looks great, by the way. Now go mow.
Thanks harry i was just being proactive i was thinking i dont know how to do a rebuild on it so just replace it i have done all the other stuff new filter new blade new plug and an oil change but wanted to feel as if i did all possible so i get a good start with it but you are right i will probably get along fine as it is thanks
I had never done a carb rebuild, either, until I did my first one.
It's not hard at all. The main thing is, you need to clean all the little passages where the fuel might flow. To do this, you need a thin wire -- like the kind you find on a loaf of break, only you need to strip the plastic or paper off of it.
Then you need some carb cleaner.
There are plenty of carb rebuilt videos on you tube. type your engine model and "carb" into google, and you should have a number of videos to choose from.
Most of the time, you can get away with just a cleaning. There are rebuilt kits out there for your specific engine, but I'd give the cleaning a go, first.
Thanks Tom i may have to give that a try do i have to take it off to clean it?? I'll check the you tube for a guide but i dont know the models the prior owner painted over all the id stickers the only reason i know its an 11 hp B&S is because when i replaced the air filter the guy a the parts place told me it was "probably " the 11 hp model so thats what im working with
