I have a traditional self propelled walk behind Cub Cadet. I tilted the mower on its side to remove the blade for sharpening. Ive done this before without issue. This time I put it on the wrong side and oil poured out through the air filter. Real mess. After cleaning it I added oil. Now if I pull the chord it goes slack without engaging the engine at all. I can turn the blade and tighten the chord but if I pull it I get the same result. Just goes loose and does nothing. Suggestions?
Remove your spark plug & clean it up, recheck gap, before reinstalling plug pull cord quite a few times. If air filter is oil soaked replace filter & clean air filter housing spotless, reinstall plug & give her a try. Let us know how it goes, thanks, Mark

What's the engine model#? You may have messed up the recoil spring or starter pawls. When you pull the rope, a spring starts compressing. When you release rope, spring relaxes and pulls rope back in. Pull blower housing and inspect.
