i want to swap a toro 1inch shaft 708cc engine for a Kawasaki fx 730 if possible. will i have any trouble getting a 1 1/8 inch clutch to replace the 1 inch clutch. is there any other problems that might show up. the mower is a toro 74490 zero turn z master 2000 48 inch cut.
You can get a clutch, but you will need a wiring diagram to connect everything electrical in most cases like this. You may also need a drive pulley with the correct spacer.

some toros come with kawasakis already so im assuming there is a clutch that will have the 1 1/8 bore to fit my application. ill have to look around to see if i can find some type of electrical diagram to cross reference the wires.thanks for the reply.
I assume you already have the engine or are you going to have to buy it. They make an FX730 engine with a one inch shaft. The shaft has to be the right length as well.
i didnt know the fx 730 was one inch shaft. that would be a good replacement assuming the shaft length is the same. is there any work arounds if the shaft on the fx 730 was longer?

I am sure you have a good reason to want to change like it might be a free motor but you're going to have issues, possible with the wiring, and the one I just finished for a customer was like that wanted a bigger shaft, can't imagine why, what will it do that the one inch won't do, I bet it was free, the ones I have delt with are 4 1/4" inches long so the comes getting the electric clutch to be in a straight like with the deck belt, that means machining a spacer bushing on the metal lathe, glad to help the fellow I get paid for the mechanic work and the machining.
