I believe I'm the second owner. Long story short. It seems that the pulley brake arms were replaced a while back (not me). I can not get the torsion springs on both sides to sit like they should. I believe they were put on incorrectly the last time someone did this. They couldn't be the OEM.
Photo 1093 and 1094 are of the spring that I just removed the one end. I didn't want to dig the hole any deeper.
I'm losing my mind with these springs. Does any one have a detailed photo of how they are positioned? Or point me to a page online that shows how to replace the torsion springs. I have looked online and some photos are not close up enough, or maybe it's my eyesight... 8-(
Please post Model Number from under seat starting with 917. thanks, Mark

I have a 2005 LT1000 (917.275371) and mine uses "regular style springs" for that function.
Left and right brake springs are same 131335 (superseded to 532179748). Idler spring is on the right and is 169022 (superseded to 532169022). Here's what my brake arms look like (disregard the Gomer-repair that I made until my two new replacement arms arrived).

After totally losing my mind (it helped), I think I have them on the right way.

You are missing a cupped washer. see the IPL to find the parts. These systems do not work well new and are often removed totally by the customer. They wreck belts, parts wear quickly, springs break and assembly requires the step shoulder ,spring and cup washer to be assembled with out clamping the spring under the step shoulder.
