I have an older 19.5 hp 46 " rider and the transmission goes forward fine but when I try to go in reverse it just doesn't want to move, there is no sound like the belt is slipping or any unusual noise that would indicate a broke trany, does any one know if there is an adjustment I can make or if the fluid could be low?
Welcome aboard there are some very smart people on this board, but we need a little more information on what brand of mower and model of mower then it will be a little easyer .To much information can't hurt .:licking:
Ok thanks for the reply, I am not sure what year it is but it is a Craftsman 19 hp twin with a 46" mower deck, and a hydrostatic transmission the model # is 917.256670 and ser. # is 082996D 005019
Its a 1996 model mower. This is not much you can adjust. something that I have seen a couple of times is some mowers have a shoulder bushing in the hydro control arm that for some reason gets lost sometimes and never replaced causing slack in the linkage can effect directional control.
