Hydro Oil Hot

I have a 2014 Scag Tiger Cat with 61" deck and 23.5 hp Kawasaki. I noticed that the hydraulic oil is really hot after a two hours of using the machine too hot to keep your hand on there for any amount of time. Is this normal? Today while at work I saw a older Tiger Cat/Cub that had a cooler mounted to a bracket that sat over the engine. Anyone put a cooler on there Tiger Cat?

140-160 degrees wouldn't be out of the question. So most likely normal oil temperature after running.

Ok, Thanks.
Saw the Scag again at a 7-11 pulled in and its a Wildcat looks just like a Tiger Cat!

What you may have seen was a Tiger Cub or Wildcat that had a liquid cooled Kawasaki FD engine. The radiator sits horizontal above the engine flywheel. Vertical shaft liquid cooled Kawasaki engines were problematic and with excessive emissions and were discontinued.
The Tiger Cub was upgraded into a Tiger Cat with several Wildcat features. The Wildcat was discontinued a few years back.
I have thought about adding a hydraulic system oil cooler to my Tiger Cub, but no good spot to install it.
Although the hydraulic oil reservoir gets too hot to hold your hand on it, I think that the operating temps are normal. I did check it one time with an emersion temp gauge and I think that I felt that the temp was normal.

A note to ILENGINE,
I have rewired the charging system output on both of my machines from the keyswitch to the battery side of the starter solenoid. One machine needed a fuse installed, Ingersoll 4018. Horizontal 18 Vanguard on one, 30 Commercial Turf on the other. My Hustler X-ONE/Kawasaki FX730V is direct wired.
