I have a Hustler 42" (Model # 927368) that I did a engine re-power on (Honda to B&S). The engine works great but I am having a safety switch issue.

It runs great until I sit on the seat and bring the handles inward to drive it - when I do the engine dies.

I bypassed the seat switch and that doesn't fix it

I put in new handle switches and that didn't fix it. So I bypassed the handle switches and then I can bring the handles in and drive it but as soon as I turn the PTO on - it dies.

The local mower place said to check the connections on the PTO as the safety wiring run through the PTO clutch. I have done this and all the connectors look good and are engaged properly.

The clutch does engage and the blades spin for a second until the engine is killed by some electrical safety item.

Any thoughts?

You're losing power to the kill relay
