is there a way to convert my hustler raptor to a multching mower or are there better blades that will slow down plugging with the discharge

Baggers need high lift blades. Mulchers like low lift blades like Gators. Your deck needs to be made to do what you wish. Deck and blades are a recipe.

Sounds like you need to cut more often or crank the deck up. Cutting seriously tall grass puts a lot of strain on the mower. Probably need to sharpen your blades for sure.

Cutting tall wet grass contributes to plugging. I doubt that mulching blades will give you any benefit. It may make the problem worse.
