Wife was mowing and the tractor shut off. Blown fuse. Replaced and it
started ok. Engaged the PTO and blown fuse again. Checked the schematic
and discovered there is a diode across the clutch terminals. Un able to locate
the diode so I by passed everything and the clutch will not pick up. Ohmeter
shows dead short across the clutch solenoid . My gut tells me the clutch
is burned up. Could this be the result of an overload? The center blade of the
mower was very difficult to turn due to a build up of grass . Is there a source
for used parts such as the clutch.
Also while I'm asking we have a JOHN Deere LA110 tractor with the transaxle
shot. Locks up and burned up the drive pully. Tractor is in good condition except
for that. Also would like a used transaxle. From what I see a transaxle from any
other model tractor would work as long as it has the pedals for foreward and
reverse. Sorry tfor the long post. Thanks for any help.
