Husqvarna YTA19K42 transmission belt.

Hello everyone.
I'm at the end of my rope with this riding mower.
Its a Husqvarna YTA19K42 (960450033).
Over time it started moving slower in reverse to the point it lost reverse.
Last week it stopped moving in forward. I checked the main drive belt and didnt any problems with the belt, spring or pulleys.

I discovered the transmission belt was missing several teeth and had several cracks. Looking online I couldnt find a part number for the belt.
The transmission sticker says General Transmission 415663 (87007 C4). 415663C0100075. Its the only sticker I could find, it doesnt say RS800 or anything like that.
The existing belt has the part number GT 37401, I found the belt online with the same part number but its a completely different belt.
The existing belt is a "V" shape where the new belt is flat.
The old belt is .375" wide, the new one is .789" wide. Both seem to be the same length.

I think I bought this in 2011, did I get something where they changed the design and no longer make belts for it?

Thank you for any help.

Drive belt number should be #532197253. You are correct the variator belt should be GT37401. The first site I’ve attached shows the belt and the second site is the repair manual for the tranny.

Rivets,
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I've attached a picture of the belts, the bottom one is the old belt.
Also the transmission in the manual looks different than the one I have.
Did they try different transmissions models in 2011?

I tried to take the pulley off to get to the belt but after taking the (4) screws out it wont budge.
I ended up cutting the bad belt.

Need to stop here this unit doesn't look anything like a RS800P or RS800F transaxle as I see none of the normal controls. Someone need to contact General Transmissions with the 415663 model number and find out what they did.

As Star says 2+2 doesn’t add up to 4. I can just go by the numbers you provided. Did you purchase this unit new Or used? Could someone have changed out the tranny In the last 11 years? As stated time to stop, backup and take another look at what is going on. Can you take a pic of the tranny sticker?

Rivets,
Yes sir I agree.
I bought the unit brand new from Lowes I think in 2011. I've done all the maintenance myself.
Could it be a model made just for Lowes?
Please see attached transmission sticker. (Its the only one I can find).
I also attached the mower sticker.

I'm also going to try Napa today to see if they can find a matching belt.
Our napa store can find a lot of oddball stuff.

Star, Thank you for your reply.

Thank you again.

Well I haven't heard anything form GT.
I did however find a exact belt at Napa, it was a bear to get back in but I got it.
Test run, I have a slow forward gear and no reverse.

I think I found it...??..
On the general transmissions website I came across a cross ref to the old transmission part number 415663
to a new part number of GT87007.

But I have found a picture of the GT415663 and this is not the current RS800. Matter of fact I have never seen this version. Must get with GTI for info on it tomorrow. I will personally call them myself as I need to know what this is too.

Again thank you for your help.

Could it be they changed transmissions when they changed to the foot shifter for forward and reverse?
Mine has the hand shift lever on the side of the frame.

As for the belt I should have know Napa would have it.
I tested the transmission per the video from GT, (rear tires off the ground and turn the rear pulley clockwise and counter to see it the wheels move)
They did.

I found the GT87007 of all places at Walmart for $615. Its cheaper than a new mower.

Thanks

Okay the CVT transaxle is a CVT 08-1 but all I got at GTI was voice mail and their website don't list anything on the 08-1 unit. Still working on it for an IPL and SM

I did find a youtube video on this unit but it may not be of much help.

Thanks for finding the video sir.

I've been looking for any information for trying to test the tranny, but cant find anything.

I did find out (Engine on, wheels off the ground) while in reverse the the front pulley on the transmission doesn't turn.
It does start turning in forward but its slow.

Thanks Sgkent,

So far the prices I've found for the tranny range from $450 to $750.

The gduible link was a strange. Somehow I dont think I could buy at new mower for $75..lol Maybe the shipping is $2000...lol

I'd call anyway cause they might have decided to get rid of surplus stock at that price. That said I think it is a web page problem where another part is mis-linked to that trans.

Update...

Husqvarna service center found a different part number for the tranny.
AYP (American Yard Products) 532415663 Transmission Variator Tx 18/20 -S2. at $950 out the door.

This claims to be an OEM part but my existing is a GT415663, is there a chance it wont fit?
The replacement from General transmissions is GT87007. I found the GT87007 on walmarts website for much less. $650
One thing about them is they have free returns. Or is it time to replace an 11 year old mower?
