Husqvarna walk behind leaking gas

When I fill my Husqvarna lawn mower with gas it floods the engine and leaks gas all over. If I let all the gas run out. I can start it and it will run for about 2 minutes before it goes completely dry. I'd like to try to fix myself if possible.

This is the mowers 3rd year but I didn't run it at all last summer because it had a broken wheel which I recently replaced.

Any help would be much obliged.

You will need to replace the float needle and seat, which should solve the problem.

Parts less than $10. How long it takes depends on the mechanic and how he does the job. I have done so many of them that it normally takes 20-30 minutes depending on how dirty the unit is and if everything comes apart easily. Have had some that took an hour.

Thanks Rivets, now I'll be able to gage what the repairman charges me.

What could be the cause?

I feel that this is caused by the ethanol in today's fuels. We are recommending to all our customers that they use non-ethanol fuel, even if it is the high octane. This is a common problem we have seen lately, but have had very few comebacks when the customer changes fuels.
