Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me correct RPM's for a HU 700F (FWD) mower should be? Mines is teetering around the 3100-3120 area.I believe most push mowers should be btwn 3000-3100 rpm's,thanks.

We need the manufacturer product label information for your mower. I know the generic standard for most small engine equipment is 3600 RPM maximum without any load.

Some manufacturers reduce the top running RPM so the drive system will not outrun the operator.

I usually go for about 3150 to 3250. I find almost every push and self-propelled mower is set too low when I am working on them. Often around 2800 rpms or so.

Especially any Honda push mower. They are sooo quiet and hardly use any gas. All because they are set to 2500rpm out of the box. Crank them to 3600rpm and they roar right along like the rest.

I set at 3600 for max lubrication, durability, longevity and cooling. Just as Briggs and the rest state to.
