Husqvarna Mover not driving

I have a Husqvarna YTH20K46 with a Kohler engine. I am having troubles getting it to accelerate when i press the gas, in fact when i press the gas, it will slow to a stop and i will hear a screech. If i then take my foot off and let it sit for a sec i will be able to drive forward slowly but i still can not go pas a slow crawl. This Happens when i have the blades running and when i don't have the blades running. Through out the life of the machine (about 520 operating hours) i have only changed the oil once and the oil filter and the fuel filter once. In fact it is a newer fuel filter it is using now. It idles perfectly fine and everything else but i can not get it do drive. Any suggestions will be much appreciated as i have limited money to spend on a professional to repair and plus i would love to learn how to fix it myself

Have you ever purged the hydro, or replaced the drive belt?

It sounds like you need a new drive belt especially as you said there is a loud screech. I recommend replacing the belt, check how worn it is.

Yep, and there is a pivot point under there that needs lubing too. The tech from sears showed me where it is at it is the clutch/ brake pivot point. My ys4500 Craftsman was built by Husqvarna so it is most likely the same setup as yours it gets debris, and dirt in there when mowing which causes it to stick, and not return the tension to the belt like it should.

Make sure that the parking brake on the tranny isn't stuck in the on position. If hydrostat, the slower speed has a higher torque, and may be enough to overcome the brake resistance. Also check the drive belt, and the tension arms, as well as all the idler pulleys to make sure they are in good shape.

I have not Changed the Drive belt...nor do i know where it is. I also do not have the parking brake on as all it is is a lever that stops the brake pedal from lifting. Simple little piece of metal and so i know it isn't engaged.

The parking brake engages every time you push the clutch pedal down, and if the pins behind the small brake lever that the linkage hooks to get rusted the brake won't disengage. Sounds like it may be time to let a dealer look at it, since you indicated that you don't know were the drive belt is.

Pull the hydro disengage lever on the back of the mower, and then see if you can push the tractor. if it won't push then the parking brake is stuck.

If you lower the deck fully and look up you should see a belt running from the pulley on the engine all the way to a pulley on the rear which is the gearbox. This is the drive belt. Check to see if it is loose or worn.

How tight should it be? It is a little loose but it isnt loose enough that it would fall off. Also, I have the driving problem even with the blades off....Also it backs up fine but not going forwards.

It pushes just fine with that disengaged.
