I have a husqvarna 24v48. The 20amp fuse blows when I turn the key to crank mower. I have checked the solenoid and it’s has continuity and engages when power applied. I checked the PTO switch and it seems to check out on continuity in on and off positions and I checked the key switch and it also checks out on continuity in all positions.
I also tried starting mower by jumping the solenoid. the motor turns over and spins but will not crank.
I put a new battery in it 2 weeks ago and no issues with it then.
Any suggestions on what it could be or what I should check next
If it's blowing the fuse pretty much instantly, my guess would be you have a short to ground somewhere. I would try physically tracing all the wiring from the switch to make sure something hasn't rubbed through a wire, or mice haven't gotten in there and chewed on some of the wires.
Check your battery connections and make sure the cables are correct. Positive goes to the start solenoid and ground to the chassis. Not all mower batteries have the same post locations, and it is easy to have one that is backwards polarity.

This afternoon I did some further testing for shorts and rechecking some switches. while I was at it I cleaned contacts on various conections. After one of the testing sequences that I read it required to try cranking mower if you had certain voltage readings to see if fuse would blow to either rule out or identify possible wiring with a short. When I tried it fired right up. I cut about 1 1/2 ac and had no issues. So I wonder if one of the contacts connections I cleaned was the cause of the short.
