I have a Husqvarna 128LD weed wacker. The pull rope snapped and I can't figure out how to put a new one on. I have the part that the pull rope ties into taken off and there is a short piece of the old rope left on it. The piece of rope goes into the center of the piece that the rope wraps around and goes into a little hole but that's all I can see. I can't see where that piece is actually tied into. On all other ones I have seen it is obvious where to tie the new rope onto but this one is different. Has anyone ever seen one like this?
Thanks
Have you removed the rope pulley from the housing. I believe that you will find the rope knot on the bottom side of the rope pulley, or as Stihl likes to call it a rope rotor, Ha Ha.

Ya I have the rope pulley taken out of the housing. The little piece of rope that is left is going through a hole in the center of the rope pulley but I don't see any knots.
I used that due to a lack of a better term at the time. the part that sticks up from the rope pulley, that engages the pawls on the flywheel when you start it. On some units, the rope comes out the top of the pulley next to the teeth, wraps around the part that sticks up, loops under the rope at the rope hole, then gets held in place with a small screw with a toothed washer on it.

I figured it out today. The rope actually went through the hole in the middle and came out on top. The piece was so greasy that i couldnt see where the rope was tied into a knot. Once I cleaned it off it was very obvious where the knot was. Thanks for the help.
