I am doing some work on a 1965 Huffy front engine rider. Model number is 4855. It had a 5HP Briggs and 2" cut. I need to see a manual or just a picture of the bottom so I can see how the clutch belt mounts. and how the clutch operates.
Thanks,

The clutch belt is very simple. When you Peter the pedal it pushes a pulley up to the belt that tightens up the tension on the belt engaging the drive well that turns the transmission input gear. You have to loosen the split pulley and drop the split pulley off the drive shaft. Then you should be able to put a new belt on. Take the split pulley apart and clean off the old grease off then put some fresh grease on the top split pulley grease groves in it. Do not get carried away with to much grease after you fill up the groves. Before you go any further there is a break to stop the blade from spinning when it not in use. Check the drive pulley. It has a sealed bearing in it. Put a new one on to be safe. Take the pulley to any hardware store and they should match you up with a new one. Ok put the top split on the shaft and then the belt then the bottom split pulley on then clean the thirds and put some motor oil on them and hand tighten making sure the belt stays outside the split pulley then tighten the bolt up. Check the blade bolts and if in bad shape get two stainless steal bolt put oil on them and a lock washer on them tighten them up. The mower deck should be cleaned and painted. Clean the 8 studs put some oil on them buy 8 new stainless lock washers & nuts tighten them all up. Be very carefully putting the nuts on they can strip very easy. If you want to sell it let me know.
