Yesterday I did my annual spring cleanup here in central MA. I started with the usual light raking to get up some of the snow moss (or whatever it's called, kind of a white spider web looking coating on the lawn) maple helicopters and light thatch. Not much thatch came up, so I picked it up by hand.
I then broke out the HRX and lowered the wheels to the 1.5" setting to get a nice close first of the season cut ( I generally leave the wheels at the 3.0 throughout the mowing season)
After 2/3 30 foot passes, the bag felt heavy. Sure enough it was stuffed full. Much to my surprise, I ended up filling 7 of those large paper yard bags with thatch from my .3 acre lot by the time I was finished! BTW.. She started right up! one pull!
I can't say enough about the Honda HRX. What a great machine! It is by far the best lawnmower I've ever owned!
