HRX217K5 Mower Shut Down Question

Hi all -

Working on an HRK217K5 where the mower will not shut down when using the throttle to engage the grounding kill switch. The actuator sticks and I'm trying to determine whether the spring (in the attached diagram) is the issue, or whether it's something else that folks have worked on before. I tested the kill switch, it works fine, but the linkage stops just a tad bit short of actuating the kill switch, which is kinda annoying to reach down and kill it. Any thoughts would be appreciated greatly.

Just noticed that no one responded to your post. Hope you figured it out by now. But if you didn’t, here are my thoughts. The most obvious place to look is the placement of the throttle cable and the bolt that clamps it in place. I’d move the throttle lever as far back as you can to the stop position, then loosen the bolt that holds the cable and then manually push the cable and linkage until the kill switch makes contact. Then tighten the bolt. You might see witness marks on the cable housing showing where the cable had been originally clamped. I suspect that the cable housing slipped at some point, like when the handles got folded for storage or transport.

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit of this and it worked for awhile, now it needs adjusted again. I'm pretty certain the grounding switch needs more adjustment or replaced. Cheers all.
