My HRX217HYA is about 6 years old. I live and 6000ft. I know there are a few plugs for this mower. BPR5ES and BPR6ES. Would either do better at my altitude?
There is a high altitude carb jet for this mower. Recommended by Honda for above 5000ft. Local power equipment Honda dealer said it wasn’t needed.
Mower was not running well and I was having some surging issues and wet/black plug and after cleaning the carb up, I was still having issues. Spark plug was black and wet. I installed a new Honda OEM carburetor assembly. Ran well yesterday after the carb install. Haven’t checked plug since installing new carb.
I’ll be using ethanol free gas with Stabil moving forward. It’s not inconvenient to get and might solve some issues
