I have an older hrs21 Honda push mower...never any problem until this year...I can start it first pull, it runs for 20 seconds, then stops and won't restart...I put a new Carb on it, the plug shows good spark with tester, and its getting air....any ideas?

Try unscrewing the gas cap a bit and see what it does. Could be that the vent in the cap is plugged, which would cause flow of gas to stop.

Did you install new fuel line and clean out the gas tank when you replaced the carb? It may also be possible that there is an obstruction that sort of floats around until it plugs up the line either in the tank or in the line to the carb.

Tried the gas cap..no luck...get plenty of gas from tank...fuel line fine...tank clean...fresh gas...could I need a new gasket to where the the Carb bolts on...havent seen that part listed at any parts stores. OK..no gasket but o-ring which came new with new Carb. Still searching.

New Spark plug and air filter? I'd try to check the spark right after it quits running. Maybe there's an issue with the ignition system that develops after it has run for a bit.

I just fixed one yesterday with the same symptoms. Remove the fuel line from where it connects to the tank. This one had a small "in tank" fuel filter that's inserted from the bottom side of the tank. The fuel line goes over it. You may be able to look thru the gas cap hole, look to see if one is sticking up in the tank where the fuel line connects. Very small in diameter, about an inch long. I removed it and put on an in line filter that you can actually see.

I will try that, though the float bowl is full when I check it and I see fuel coming in, small stream, when I let the float drop
Thanks for the idea, will try it and get back.
