I am in search for a HRM215 transmission. I would prefer a good used one but would consider any
suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

What is the frame serial number off your mower? I can at least look up the part number and see if Honda still offers one, or maybe you've already checked with your local Honda dealer?

A brand new hydrostatic is about $265 list, while the gear-drive is about $135. Individual service parts are available for the hydrostatic trans, but not for the gear drive model...

I would check the clutch lever for excessive play on the shift fork first before replacing the tranny.they look pretty beefy inside with hardened steel gears but not so on the clutch lever I just got 2 hrm215's that I assumed had bad transmissions but it was the clutch lever.

I have an HRB216 variable speed transmission... believe that's hydrostatic. It's a good transmission if it will work for your mower.

I think that is a hydrostatic drive? If so, a brand-new trans. is Honda Part Number 20011-VE5-710. $265.23 list price. Some service parts are available as well if you think it may be repaired vs. replaced.

If it is a gear-drive, only the trans. itself is available (no internal service parts), and that is Honda Part Number 06200-VF0-000, $336.21 :confused2:

Google any part number to find a Honda Dealer selling it online, or use this link to find a Honda Dealer in your area: Find A Honda Dealer
