HRC 216 Adjusting Arm Issue

My Honda HRC2163HXA has very loose Front Adjusting Arms, so that the wheels are bouncing around and the Front Adjusting Plates are jumping out of the adjusting notches.

The Front Adjusting Arms just wiggle around in my hand - as if they were wallowed out. All of the bolts are snug and tight.

I read the post by Robert@Honda about a Service Bulletin issued in late 2011 - do you have more info on the problem - as I believe my mower needs new Adjusting Arms in addition to new Adjusting Plates ?

I purchased my mower in March 2011, and it's Frame Number is # MAKA-1093755.

Did they make new style Adjusting Arms ? And if so, do you have the part numbers for the new Left and Right Adjusting Arms ?

If they didn't make a new style Adjusting Arm, do you have the old part numbers ( for the Left & Right ) so that I can replace them ?

Thank-You,

Darell

Darell: Your mower IS part of the units addressed in the Service Bulletin, and could benefit from new-style adjuster plates. The arms should be inspected for wear and replaced at the same time if necessary.

As the warranty has expired (as of 3/17/2012) on this specific mower, installing new plates would be at your cost. Any Honda dealer can do this, or you can DIY in just a few minutes. I think the wheel bolt will come off with a 14mm socket, and just apply some fresh wheel bearing grease as indicated here:

The part number for the new adjuster plate is : 42951-VK6-801.

Google any part number to find a Honda Dealer selling it online, or use this link to find a Honda Dealer in your area: Find A Honda Dealer

Thank-You very much for your help.

I will probably just replace the Adjuster Panel, Adjuster Plate, and Adjuster Arm for each side ( since there is so much play in each Adjuster assembly )

Thanks again,
Darell
