I tried to replace the belt of my Honda HRR216 VLAA mower. However, I couldn't figure out how to remove the transmission belt guard even after I took off the transmission (as in attached picture).
It staring you in the face. Remove the nut and the top half of the pulley. Now course you will to make a tool the hold the pulley so the nut can be removed.
