How much do you budget?

When it comes to keeping a yard looking nice and doing the landscaping, how much do you budget for it? With times being tough I am trying to get a yearly budget together and want to see what others do.

I think making a budget is a great idea. How much you budget will depend on the size of your yard. Make a list of things you use each year. Gas, oil, dirt, fertilizer, flowers, tools and other things like that.

We budget $1000 a year, that does not include mowers, repairs, etc but flowers, dirt, mulch, seeds, etc. I think that is enough and we pick one project a year to do.

I budget $1500/year, but that is for everything. Spring clean up, Fall clean up (leaves), plus all the mowing and fertilizer, etc. in the late Spring and the Summer months.

Never enough, it seems! But that's because I like to dabble around and try new things all the time! It's my hobby and my passion, and more than just doing my civic duty. (I don't go drinking or buy fancy clothes, so I guess I can justify it!)
