I have an old gravly walk behind with 8 horse kohler and after it gets warmed up it will die. Could this be the coil ? Thamks joey!

Last summer I serviced a similar machine and found the screen for the incoming cooling air almost completely blocked. The cylinder cooling fins were about half filled with crud. As the fuel hose passes close thru the blower housing, you may be getting vapor lock in the fuel line from engine heat. Remove the recoil starter and check the screen.

Also my brother in law cracked the block where tjhe muffler go in and replaced the muffler with smaller muffler could this be the problem?

Absolutely yes, cracked cylinder head? Post a picture if you can. Also post all numbers from engine as well as Gravely model and serial numbers.

engine k181s serial 14049742 Gravley 35715 serial sn00562129 have no way to show a picture. has a crack about an inch long where the muffler threads in to the block , also I changed the points no diffrents but not the condener do they get hot and cause problems? Thanks Joey!
